PROJECT: Buddhist Temple
DATE: 2012
ROLE: WAC provided schematic design, determined the project’s appearance and helped in the marketing and fundraising.
SUMMARY: A renovation of an existing one story structure on Copper Ave in Albuquerque to create a buddhist Temple. The raising and opening up the meditation space was the key program element, and involved creating a ring of clearstory windows. The entry facade and condition was simplified with a clear hierarchy. The courtyard was improved for outdoor meditation, and the resident for five was updated and made secure.
